A MOST UNIQUE COOKBOOK
by Ruth Ufkes

In A MOST UNIQUE COOKBOOK the author Ruth I. Ufkes has an important objective: to eliminate the practice of using EXCESSIVE butter and/or fats, starches, and sugar from recipes in order to maintain a lean body without taking away the delightfully tasty quality of foods. Ms. Ufkes also controls the use of salt for those persons, like herself, whose blood pressure requires medication.

About the Author

Ruth I. Ufkes grew up and worked on a farm in western Illinois until the age of eighteen. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts Degree in music from Carthage College and her Master's Degree in music from Northwestern University. She is now retired and living in the Chicago area, after years of service as a music teacher, church organist, and choir director. Ms. Ufkes enjoys aerobics, cooking, and gardening in her spare time. Her first book, FRIENDS ON THE FARM, and her second book, FROM UTTERLY NOTHING, were published by Vantage Press of New York, New York.
