A Hillbilly from Indian Country
by Delbert Terry Head This is a book about the life and times of a family raised up around Indians and people in southern Oklahoma around statehood. Times were a little slower before all the inventions of the mechanical age. All travel was by train or horseback. Lighting was by kerosene, and food had to be canned or eaten as soon as we got it, so we ate a lot of meat we killed that day or Mom would kill a chicken. Our church was the center of the community a place to go on Sunday or during the week to make quilts. Our unique family from a unique valley will leave you intrigued. Settle back and learn about us.
