Abandon: Stories of Our Animals
by Themistocle Sordellini Every day, we see cats and dogs walking our city streets. We ask ourselves, Where did they come from? Were they born here? The answer lies, sad to say, in the uncaring attitude of some of those who own pets. Animals need our help and protection. They must be seen as members of the familyand given care and love. Cats and dogs suffer the most. In Humane Societies of some American cities, cats are no longer even accepted due to the large number already taken in. There are millions of dogs and cats in our homes, but millions more on the streets are euthanized because they are not wanted. Abandon is their story. You can help the situation by neutering your pet. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Born in The Bronx, New York, Themistocle Sordellini makes his home in Hollywood, Florida. He and his wife, Rita, are the parents of five children: Cynthia, Patricia, Timothy Jr., Anthony, and Michael.
