ABOUT THE AUTHOR
The oldest of twelve children, Doris Nicholson is a native of Kansas who moved to California when she was fifteen. She has always wanted to write for children. She has loved being around them her entire life, and writing is her way of giving back the joy they have brought her.
Mrs. Nicholson is fifty-six years old and has been married for thirty-seven years. They have two wonderful children who have given them four terrific grandsons. She lives in the first house she and her husband bought-she wouldn't have it any other way. It makes for a firm foundation where they feel secure and a place where the members of her family know they are always welcome.
