About the Authors

Lynne and Mike are a retired, professional couple who now live on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia -- when they are at home. Most of their time is spent as citizens of the world, as they travel to other peoples beautiful homes in different parts of the world. Mike was a naval officer in the Royal Australian Navy Fleet Air Arm for 23 years and, after graduating with a masters in management economics and doing post-graduate work in information systems, he went on to a career in infrastructure design, project management, and risk management in Brisbane until his retirement in 2006.

Lynne, with a bachelors and post-graduate degree in political science, worked as a political scientist for the Australian Department of Defence in Canberra, New Guinea and in Singapore for 23 years. She then went on to become a senior adviser in research and policy to the Queensland Corrective Services Commission until her retirement in 2000.

Their three grown children, Julian, Alice, and Beth, live in Melbourne, Australia with their partners, Kristyna, Scott, and Andreas.

Lynne and Mike also have two grandchildren, Zoe and Kai, and are excited for more to come.
