by Peter R. Onedera
Gi I Tilu Grdu (In the Third Grade) is a chronological slice-of-life account of the authors third grade class at his village elementary school. Church, childhood romance, holidays, Boy Scouts, swimming in the villages river, picking mangoes, and a spelling bee are humorously presented with an island setting that is Guam, an unincorporated territory of the United States. The author employs the accents of the Guam Dialect of English, known as CHt, throughout the book, adding a touch of authenticity. The blend of native culture and American influence sets the background for a delightful, charming tale of island life.About the Author
