___________________________________________________________It Was Only for a Moment: Poems to Inspire the Mind
by Termica Shontel Harris
From the beginning, God had already wrote the story. As the pages of my life turned, I drifted away from my destination. The sounds of my motherís tears became the foundation of my inner pain for years to come. My struggles and insecurities began the day I felt I lost the only comfort and understanding I knew, my father, Richard Harris. How tall, dark, and handsome he was as he walked in his diligent manner clothed in his Navy uniform.
When my father became paralyzed from a car accident, my world became troubled like a deep, dark hole with no sunlight. I stumbled continuously as I tried to fit people in my life to replace what I thought I had lost. I became out of touch with reality because I felt I had no one to guide me. Abused, mistreated, and neglected was the torturing lifestyle I suffered repeatedly.
It Was Only for a Moment became the beginning of a new road of recovery within my life because God ordered my steps to make a divine difference in somebodyís dark world.
