Jacqueline Marie Howard was born on April 14, 1946, in Hampton, Virginia. She graduated from Phoenix High School in 1964 and later graduated from Norfolk State University with a bachelor of science degree in office administration in 1973. She subsequently began her career at the university and retired from her senior secretarial position in student support services after thirty-four years of service.
While there she served as president, vice president, and chaplain of the Norfolk State University Association of Educational Office Professionals; president of the Virginia Association of Education Professionals; and state membership director.
Upon retiring, Jackie continued her dedication by working parttime as an administrative assistant for the Virginia School of the Deaf and Blind.
Jackie had also been a proud and faithful member of Queen Street Baptist Church since early childhood. She was an active member of the Pastors Aide Ministry and the Deaconess Ministry.
Jackies life revolved around her family, friends, and acquaintances, giving unconditional love. Her childrenDara, Vernon, and Ericaloved her dearly. She possessed a strong faith, always offering a helping hand, a smile, and encouraging words to everyone. Poetry was her God-given talent, turning words into beautiful, soothing music.(2009, paperback, 140 pages)
