by Judy Peters
The Little Blue Curtain is a childrenís story about life through the eyes of a kitchen curtain.
This particular blue curtain is named Sarah, and she has lots of ruffles and bows. She loves her life, hanging in the kitchen window, watching Mr. Baxter read his newspaper, seeing the children leave for school, and listening as Mrs. Baxter sings while baking or cleaning. She feels she is part of the Baxter family.
The time comes when Mrs. Baxter buys a new pair of curtains for the window and Sarah is forced to leave the only place she has ever known.
The Little Blue Curtain is a creative story that may be especially enjoyed by a young girl. The descriptive language may add to the appeal of this imaginative work. It reminds the reader that people can be useful in different roles during their lifetime.
