by Barbara H. Wells
In this inspiring biography, Barbara H. Wells—“BJ” profoundly recalls the life and ministry of her dedicated and loving husband, Reverend Doctor Charles E. Wells, Sr. From a humble beginning in Lawrence, Pennsylvania, to an unforgettable journey that took the couple to Atlanta, Georgia, the Wells simultaneously experience anxiety, defeats, and amazing achievements. Reverend Wells is a man who stands tall for the AME Church and other blacks, particularly during the harrowing times of the Civil Rights Movement. Even after being arrested for urging blacks to demand equality, Wells does not harbor bitterness toward any group. His steadfast faith and tenacity certainly help him pastor several churches in multiple states over the years. Even with his “I did it my way” attitude, Wells possesses a softer side that shows his innate sense for interior design and absolute love for fashion—he is certainly a man of all trades. This biography is an intriguing testament to a man who redefines love in a non-judgmental, unnerving way.
