“Let justice be...in the power of the pen.”
So begins My Private Confessions, a novel entailing Darling and the sexual advances of Dr. Patel. From the outside, Dr. Patel is a fatherly image and an ever-present emotional support. Darling, a nurse returning after a year-long absence battling breast cancer, finds herself victimized by this ladies’ man and discriminated against in the workplace. She ultimately becomes tired of her emotional pain and begins to fight back the only way she knows how.
Sexual harassment, job insecurity and discrimination, cultural diversity, and the meaning of existence: Divine takes on the dynamics of society. My Private Confessions: An Enlightening Journey through Breast Cancer and Sexual Harassment speaks through some of the toughest yet enlightening times.
