by Esther Farisato I was born in 1923 in a little town in Italy by the Adriatic Sea. In 1934 at the age of eleven, I immigrated with my parents to America. We found hard times, not knowing the language, and by then, the depression had engulfed the country. My poems are about my life, the youth that slipped away, yearnings for things that were, my childhood in my home town in Italy, and the beautiful countryside with its undulated hills and green valleys. They are also about todays life and my love for family and nature. These are all stored in my box of memories in which I have imprinted in this book of poems.
