by Virginia Wallen This story is about the love of animals and being a hero at an early age. Toby wants a baby alligator and will do anything to have one. No one believes he will ever get one, but they soon realize he is a very smart boy when he saves the town from flooding. Toby then realizes the town is in trouble again, and only he can save it. Read and learn how Toby becomes a hero by saving a town from flooding and how he also saves his animal friends. ABOUT THE AUTHOR I volunteer for Mineral King School in Visalia, California, and the students and teachers have been a big influence on me writing childrens books. This is my fourth book published, but it is actually the first one I wrote. My other books are Sonny and Sammy, Boo Boo Bear, and Amanda: Duck or Chicken? I get my ideas from things that happened when my three girls were younger. The idea for this book came from my grandson, when he went to Australia while in the Navy and came back with a black hat with alligator teeth.
