ABOUT THE AUTHOR Marcia James-Charles, an Accounts Manager, is married with one daughter. She was born and raised in Garrand, Babonneau, on the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia. The only girl in her immediate family, she resorted to a lot of reading and began to do her own little writings. At age ten, she was writing short stories, and at sixteen, she began writing poetry. Marcia won several prizes for writing essays in and out of high school, but her talent for writing poetry was just beginning to blossom. Some of her poems were chosen for publication by the International Society of Poets, and in August 2002, she attended a poetry convention in Washington where she received an award for her contribution to poetry.
