The Beauties of Nigeria and Other Poems
by Khadijah Muzzammil Hanga
Although Nigeria is a country that has acquired a notoriety of being the typical oxymoron of a rich yet poor state, or the mother of good and evil, or the bag that contains the best and the worst in humanity, as well as many other unspeakable adjectives. The author uses her supreme gifts of poetry and powerful reasoning to invite us to look at Nigeria differently, not out of pity or gratuitous altruism but because of an undeniable truth that Nigeria possesses more good, more beauty, and more bounty than it is otherwise advertised to the Nigerians and to the world.
