About the Author
Barbara Gavlick Hartnett was born in Wilkes Barre, PA. She is married to Tom, who is her strongest supporter. They have twelve nieces and nephews, two great-nieces, one great-nephew, and three cats.
Barbara graduated from Wilkes University with a BA in Fine Art. Creativity has been a driving force in her life. In addition to writing and designing, she sews, crochets, dances, sings, and enjoys gardening and baking.
Barbara's career began when she became a designer of embroidery, lace, and emblems for companies in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. She worked in the industry fro sixteen years. Her work was featured in Kmart, Wal-Mart, and JoAnn fabrics.
For twenty-five years Barbara has been a costume designer and a shop owner. Being in the costume business she has a great deal of interaction with children, children's birthday parties, and Halloween costumes.
Barbara is currently working on a story about one of the characters in this book, as well as a book featuring her quilt designs.
