The Woman in Me
by Denise L. Forde This book was written because I believe the struggles of women in todays world need a place in poetry. We have relationship problems, financial problems, love interests, joys of being female, and sadness at our losses. Because of our emotional strengths, we conquer lifes complex situations with a different spin than our male counterparts. I hope I covered most of our concerns and touched bases with your heart. Thank you. ABOUT THE AUTHOR I was born in Manhattan in the Amsterdam Projects. Although I had a troubled childhood, I managed to grow up and eventually moved to the Bronx. There I made friends with my neighbors, who I believe had the rock of stability I needed in hard times. I am a single mom of three children, and I have two grandchildren. I fully understand a womans plight in todays fast-paced, high-tech environment and how difficult it is to maintain a sense of balance. Sometimes we just need someone to say. Rest a while. Youll be okay. I thank God for giving me the inspiration to write this book. I thank my friends, especially Marlene, for listening to my gripes, and I thank my neighbors for being the ears I needed. I thank my family, including Claudia and Dru, for supporting me through my struggles and accomplishments. And I thank you for letting me into your world.
