ABOUT THE AUTHOR

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Joanne Ellison Nydegger earned a bachelor's degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a master of arts from Columbia University. Joanne also operated a design-boutique business out of her home, where she designed, manufactured, and sold thousands of items to stores, magazines, and private customers in Manhattan, where she lived for most of her life.

Having traveled to 123 countries, she now lives in Orlando, Florida. Retired, Joanne still writes and creates. She has published three other books, Meandering, Dad, and The Machine, winning acclamation and awards for her work. Joanne is Queen Mother of the Mad Hatters of South Orlando, a chapter of the Red Hat Society.
