Children in the Belly of the Beast: Breeding Ground for Social Pathology
by Inkwell

In Children in the Belly of the Beast: Breeding Ground for Social Pathology, Inkwell discusses the effects of childhood deprivation and the failings of the institutions of family, school, community and church. He analyzes the impact this has on a juveniles transition from adolescence to adult and how it can lead to abuse, peer pressure, delinquency, criminal behavior, and potential incarceration.

In addition, he makes suggestions and recommendations that may be useful to parents, grandparents, and those who work with juveniles within these institutions.

About the Author

Inkwell was born and raised in Harlem as one of five boys in a single-parent household. He is now a father of three and a graduate of Audrey Cohen College. He has completed his masters degree and holds an MPA in public administration at Metropolitan College. He is also working to develop a youth organization targeting socially challenged kids ages 7-16 in inner-city communities.

He has 20 years experience in working with the socially challenged, placed in secure and non secure detention facilities as a court advocate and case manager.

For Inkwell, writing became an outlet, and allowed him to be the voice of the many parents he met over the years. Parents desperately fighting to save their children from the perilous conditions of the inner city streets, drugs, gang violence, victims of crime and a culture of music they believe has altered the mind of their children.
