ABOUT THE AUTHOR Artist Robert R. Mehling is primarily known for his highly illusionistic still-life paintings. His professional art career began in the seventies, when his work was inspired by surrealism. Lucid and contemplative, Mehlings recent paintings emphasize the autonomous object over concept. His work hangs in many private and public collections. He has exhibited at the Salmagundi Club, NYC, the Parrish Art Museum in Southampton, and numerous galleries. Also a prolific writer, Mehling has been recognized by Whos Who in America for his contribution to American art.
