Tales From the Wagging Tails
by Gerald Yankee

This story consists of a series of short, true tales of the authors relationship with various types of animals. It is told with the emotions that only animals and humans who love them can share. The humor, the love, the experiences, and the sadness that occurs during their short lifespan.

Each chapter is a short story that develops from childhood through the life of the adults. From the first attachment to a neighbors dog, to cats, to a mouse playing a piano, to various farm animals that were protective of their flocks. A seagull that had no qualms about stealing a dinner. The many dogs that had an effect on the author and his family are the main heroes of this story.

Animal lovers all over the world will feel the blessings that Tales From the Wagging Tails have bestowed upon animals and humans.

About the Author

The author was born in Franklin, Massachusetts, and grew up during the depression years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a seventeen-year-old sailor. He served on the last Navy ship casualty of the war. That experience and the subsequent reunion compelled him to write the story of the event. That story was published in the Sea Classics magazine, published in August 1995.

He was married for forty-seven years to Dottie, who was a great lover of all living creatures. She passed away seven years ago and is on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

The author currently lives in Palm Bay, Florida. He is close to his two stepchildren and grandchildren.
