I hung inverted from my prison cell deep inside the mountain. I could feel my consciousness coming back. Maybe I could stretch my aching muscles, but the chains attaching me to the ceiling held me tight as I hung there. Around my neck was a thick metal collar with six ports for the needles constantly pumping a red serum into me through tubes that came down from above. The serum was keeping me asleep. Keeping them safe. The flow started to slow and I could hear a constant drip of water echoing in my cell. I was waking up. No, I thought, It’s too early. I needed to get back to the dream, back tot hem. All of them. I thought about the beginning again, how this all started, how I got here. I felt myself grin.
“Oh, Kit,” I whispered to myself quietly, “What have I done?”
About the Author
Sadie Lynn Zeiske grew up in rural Wisconsin and has lived there since she was born. While balancing her career and college homework, she developed a love for writing this fantasy series in her free time. This is the first book of the The Unkillable Jane Smith series and is the kick starter to this fantasy story that is a never ending rollercoaster ride of blood, drama, and kick ass action. Enjoy!
