Time Trials

Cyclists ride in time trials, which are races against the clock. Riding, like life, can be an uphill struggle or a downhill glide. Time Trials was written over a period of time and is based on observed or experienced life struggles and glides. Conventional poetic formats may not be observed, but it is hoped that the readers of the trials can relate to the emotions of the ride.

C.L. Ulrichny was raised in Roselle, N.J. She progressively relocated to her current residence in Hardwick, N.J. via moves through Montclair, Nutley, Belleville and Oak Ridge, N.J. Cathy attended Montclair State University for her B.A. and M.A. in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Additional certifications offered her the opportunity to work as a speech and language therapist, a special education teacher, an assistant principal and as a student teacher field supervisor for Centenary College in Hackettstown, N.J.

The author enjoys many activities, including boating and fishing on the Delaware River, art related to photography, carpentry, drawing and painting, singing with the Sussex County Oratorio Society, and helping at a local stable with special needs children who are learning to ride horses.

Cathy has been married to her husband, Bob, for over 30 years. They live in the woods of Hardwick, N.J., with their thirteen-year-old Jack Russell, Cho-Cho San, and attend to the needs of numerous feral cats and various wild animals.
