The characters in this story are fictional; however, the inspiration for their creation came from a very real place. All the names for these characters were real children who, in my opinion, were a blessing to be around, and I learned many lessons from them. These children are the book. The characters in the book are all from the same community, for lack of a better word. They all have to find their way, as we all do. We all have different backgrounds, creeds, and religions, but we could make a difference if we all worked together; it doesnt matter if youre green or brown, or if you walk with two legs or four. The magic becomes real. Together we can. Dedicated to Christine and Diane. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Born and raised in New York City, presently living in Orlando, Florida, in my great, green, googly house with my husband and our wonderful puppies. I enjoy that today, I can talk to my own children, laugh, and accept our mistakes growing up together. I also enjoy all the kids in my neighborhood, laughing at the simple things in life. Ive had the opportunity of working and meeting with many interesting people in my life which, some believe, I would never be. People were my inspiration for this childrens story. My muse, so to speak, came from a small community center located in a small town. I thought I would take my time to slow down my life, and thats all it took for me to learn how I had gone from rich to poor, from poor to rich in the blink of an eye. It came from knowing if you go that extra mile to help others, big or small, you can help yourself as well. A simple smile can help someone believe in themselves. On this journey, I could never have discovered who I am and how to reach for the stars without the help of others.
